Breaking News: Bruntlett Fired! (sort of)

There is more awesome to come later but in the meantime we’d like to thank Miguel Cairo and Ben Francisco for making this all possible. You guys are pretty good, and pretty good is always better than terrible.

Happy Victory over Bruntlett Day!

Weekend at Beardo’s

I had good fortune to get to attend two of the last 4 regular season Phillies games.  I did not however have the good fortune to see a game that mattered and thus had to suffer through not one, but TWO starts by Eric Bruntlett.

Beardo's in the cards for the day!

Beardo's in the cards for the day!

I of course was horrified to find this out considering I hate Beardo almost as much as I hate reality television. (Steve’s hate: Beardo < Reality TV < New York Mets)  The only bright side of this would be that I’d more or less get to do a live Beardcap (and I am fully aware I have not done a Beardcap in a while).  These starts were actually very important for Bruntlett as the Phillies are still in the process of choosing their postseason roster.

We are staying right here…

As you may have read on our page, or on twitter, or he probably called you to brag about it, Max is officially taking a subaticle from fireericbruntlett, but rest asure that he is the only one.

Steve and I are willing and able to continue our fight for the firing of Eric Bruntlett.

Also, if you haven’t taken notice yet, we have launched a Fire Eric Bruntlett facebook page. So as we lose a writer we expand our horizons and reach out to others to hate Eric Bruntlett as much as we do. As we get closer and closer to the playoffs we will be having more live game chats and more Beardcaps. So follow us on Twitter and Facebook and chat with us when we have live game chats.

A Big Bushy Beard

Let’s just get this out the way.  I don’t have any problem with Eric Bruntlett personally.

He seems like a nice guy and a hard worker.  Why would we pick on a good person like this?

Eric Bruntlett is apparently a professional baseball player.  He’s certainly paid like it.  I’m sure he’s living his dream, and I’d love for him to continue getting paid to do what he loves.

But not in the major leagues.  And most certainly not for the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies.

Bruntlett AT BEST belongs on the Nationals bench.  Bruntlett is so bad that you can hear the entire crowd sigh at once when he comes into the game as loud as any “RAUUUUUUL” you’ll hear.  Bruntlett is so bad that even Tom McCarthy thinks the game’s over when he pinch hits, and T-Mac loves everyone!

“But he scored the winning run in the world series!” you might argue.  You’re certainly right, but let’s remember he only did that because he’s faster than Pat Burrell, which is a dubious honor at best, and not exactly something that someone wants to hang hit hat on.

The man hits below .200 and is a mediocre defensive player.  Sure he can play every position, but he can’t play any of them well!  What’s the one positive thing most people say about Bruntlett?  It’s that he’s got a hell of a beard.  Can his beard hit and catch? (we’re actually still looking into that, it seems entirely feasible)

I would love to see the blackmail that Bruntlett has on the Phillies’ front office, because I can’t think of any reason to have him on your major league baseball team.  We will not rest until Eric Bruntlett is off of the Philadelphia Phillies, be it a demotion to the minors, trade, or outright release.  The world champions deserve at least an adequate utility infielder.

It’s nothing personal Eric, just business.
